Facebook has now reached a new milestone. Daily video views on the social media site now averages 8 billion daily. That’s twice the number watched daily as of April of this year. This was announced by Facebook’s founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg during his company’s quarterly earning’s call with investors.
Facebook has 1.55 billion active monthly users counts 3 seconds as a video view as opposed to Youtube’s 30 seconds.
Why is this important?
This announcement can make Facebook a top competitor to Google’s Youtube when it comes to digital advertising. Video advertising generates more money for Internet giants compared to text or banner advertisements.
