Doctolib (Booking Platform For Doctors) Raises $20 Million
What is this?
French tech startup Doctolib has just been funded $20 million during a Series B Round from Accel and other angel investors. Doctolib is the best platform for booking doctor appointments in France. With its recent funding, the startup plans to expand its services in other European counterparts.
“Our goal is to consolidate our leading position in France and expand to other European countries,” co-founder and CEO Stanislas Niox-Chateau told me. “We started 18 months ago, and we now have 5,000 doctors using our platform every day in order to manage their bookings. We have around a hundred clinics. And we get 2 million monthly unique visitors. When it comes to traction, we are adding 600 doctors per month, and we plan to double this number in the coming weeks.”
Why is this important?
Doctolib is the leading platform in Europe for booking medical professionals and this huge seed funding can greatly boost its performance by expanding in key countries all over Europe and perhaps in the global arena in the foreseeable future.
Its main competitor is Zocdoc which is mainly operational in the US.
